This is an Atlas F Missile Silo complex. Built in 1960's and operational for 3 years during the "Cold War." Site was decommisioned in 1965 and given to the local government. Where it changed hands 3 times before I bought it off of eBay. For the last 3 summers I have begun the clean up of this massive fixer upper. Hope to have a livable historical home in the future.
I've been on break for about 3 weeks. I needed one. The launch doors have been a pain in the butt. That project is on hold for awhile. Silo cap is free of most of the crap that has been there for the last few years.
Pump houses have been painted. I extracted the entry door frames from the entrance. We slid them up the plywood ramp using the tractor. I went into the antennae bunker for a look around. One of the control boxes came loose from the springs due to rust. Pumping th silo out now. I have a few new pics posted. Nothing really new. I'll try to get some interesting stuff for you folks next month.
